The book is divided into five skill-builder sections: Synonyms & Antonyms, Using Words Wisely, Determine the Meaning, Sequencing, Fact or Opinion, and Interpreting. The activities challenge students’ higher-level thinking and offer teachers an excellent evaluation tool! There is diversity in the degree of difficulty. In general, easier activities are found at the beginning of each section and more difficult ones at the end.

These activities can also be used competitively. Directions for scoring the skill pages as a class or group competition are included on the first page of each activity section.
