These books are designed to introduce students to the people, ideas, places, and events in the history and culture of the nation. Students will explore information and extend their knowledge by researching their own areas within this topic.
 The goal of is to ignite an interest in and understanding of these nations so that students grasp its past, present and future importance as a global influence. 


Successful use of these resources will reinforce students’ essential skills in critical thinking, organization, and research. National Standards can be addressed along with developing and extending skills in the following areas:

Each book is divided into 4 sections: People, Ideas, Places and Events. Each section contains a broad sampling of topics. Included for each individual topic are a brief narrative of factual background information, a visual to support the narrative, interdisciplinary activities to extend understanding, (Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies and the Arts) and opportunities for students to create their own activities. Grades 5 and up.
