Writing Links provides students with the much-needed opportunity to integrate and expand their writing skills in different areas of the curriculum. The four distinct themes in this book are Ancient Civilizations, The Sea, Creative People, and Natural Wonders. Each unit includes writing links in the following subject areas: Social Studies, Science, Math, Language, Poetry, Reading, Art, and Music. Thought-provoking writing projects inspire students to improve their techniques in expository writing, persuasive writing, narrative writing, evaluative writing, and creative writing. Students are given opportunities to write alone, with a partner, and with a small cooperative group.
Among the varied writing projects are the following activities: writing a letter, writing poetry, writing word problems, writing lyrics for a song, creating myths, writing a sports broadcast, writing a speech, and more. Because the activities in Writing Links are self-directed, you and your students will find this resource to be not only motivating and informative, but also easy to use.
