Have you ever considered just how many times your students are expected,
persuaded, or even ordered to listen every day? Why is it that listening is
considered to be one of the most important of the language strands but, at the
same time, is one of the most complex to "teach"?
A combination of teacher information pages and fun student activity pages
across three comprehensive sections provide excellent additional material
for teachers working in the areas of communication studies and persuasive
language.
The teacher materials comprise a gathering together of points, ideas, historical
notes, contemporary thoughts and unusual facts about listening which can
provide "points of entry" into many areas of language study. Student activity
pages are linked to the more detailed teacher information pages. Ideas for
student extension as well as for further teacher research are included.
