(Not Just) Openers provides an activity for every day of the year! Use them at the beginning or end of class, as homework or enrichment assignments, or any time you choose. They may be reproduced, reduced, enlarged, and/or laminated to suit your needs. Answers and background information are provided following the activities.

These activities were originally developed for the From the First Day to the Last Series, a set of nine reproducible monthly activity books. (May and June are combined into one volume, which also contains activities for the summer months.) If you enjoy using (Not Just) Openers, you might also want to examine the books in that series. In addition to the (Not Just) Openers section, each volume in the series contains a wealth of interdisciplinary projects, mini-units, puzzles, clip art, and other enrichment activities that tie in with the events and holidays of the month. Each book also includes at least one literature unit that relates in some way to the month.
